This exhibition will feature works by Makoto Tsuji (1913-1975), who was a successful artist, poet, and essayist, from Ueda’s collection. Contributing illustrations and caricatures to various magazines, Tsuji simultaneously worked as a graphic designer creating many magazine advertisements. Tsuji enjoyed mountain climbing and ski mountaineering and much of his work was featured in climbing magazines, including ALP, Yama & Kogen, and Tabi. Additionally, worked on the front cover paintings and the artist’s letters in Gakujin Magazine from January 1971 to February 1976.
