This past August, pro-democracy activities took place in Hong Kong. In conjunction with these activities, Japan-based Hong Kong groups Act with HK and DDDDD HK are holding a large-scale demo/art exhibition.

The main attraction of this exhibition is the symbol of these demonstrations, the Hong Kong Statue of Liberty, a 4-meter high statue created by an anonymous artist.

Besides the art exhibitions, Tokyo University’s Profressor Tomoko Ako will give a talk about the situation in Hong Kong and there will also be workshops led by the demo/art artists.
