Ends in 2 days

This exhibition will feature approximately 30 of Kiyoshi Hamada’s works from the 1980s to his most recent pieces. Now in his 80s, Hamada’s recent works reflect a certain maturity and confidence. Featuring a completely new series of semi-sculptural works, the exhibition will also showcase Hamada’s response to a series he began in the 1980’s called “Drawings.” An intimate exploration of visceral forms, Hamada’s newest semi-sculptural series provides a sense of calamity at a time of great uncertainty.

There will be an exhibition talk with the artist and guest speakers Yuji Akimoto (Director of The University Art Museum - Tokyo University of the Arts and Director of the Nerima Art Museum) and Ren Fukuzumi (art critic) on Sept 22. *The session will be in Japanese but event highlights with English subtitles will be published thereafter.
