Odes to the Everyday: Works from the Ueno Royal Museum Collection

Ueno Royal Museum
Finished
Ueno Royal Museum holds a collection of prize-winning works featured in its annual awards show held since 1983. This exhibition presents art from the collection that depicts everyday life, unchanging scenes of nature and urban settings, familiar faces and places, and other works on such themes that take unique approaches to the subject matter. For instance, printmaker Tetsuya Noda presents around 20 works from a diary series capturing family and fragments of daily life. Sayaka Akiyama depicts Ueno Park. The unassuming gazes of these artists speak to us now more than ever.
