Kazuo Uemura
Kazuo Uemura (1940-1986) made a name for himself as a Showa-era illustrator, manga creator, and artist. His manga “Divorce Club” was given a post-humous award at the Angoulême International Manga Festival in 2017. Other works of his have also been translated and turned into films. His bewitching female characters have at once a sense of melancholy and burning passion. This exhibition produced with Centro (Warner Music Japan) for the 80th anniversary of Uemura’s birth features rare original illustrations, covers, record jackets, and other works and documents. Original merchandise is also available.
