Lily Shu Exhibition
Ends in 8 days
Lily Shu is an artist who works with a variety of techniques including photography, video, and drawing. Born in Harbin, China, she has studied contemporary philosophy and art theory in the UK and Japan, and currently lives and works in Tokyo.
Photo collages on grids are Shu’s signature series of works that capture the strange gap between the “images” cut from reality and the vivid sense of time. In recent years, Shu has been featured in the “Newcomer Artist 100.
In this exhibition, Shu will present a new series of works that vividly and with tranquillity intertwines the pulse of optical technology with conscious and unconscious dilemmas, such as her hometown at Harbin, personal memories including political repression, and the framework of Western thought.
