Deformed pointillist paintings of motifs such as the human body and tree roots on a background composed of acrylic paint with pure silver and colored foils.

Makiko Yuasa. The beauty of the physical forms she depicts is enhanced by the exquisite interplay between the painting space created in an inorganic manner with foil and the motifs created with a collection of dots.

Yuasa describes his recent situation as “constantly moving (=changing). This does not mean that he is moving by choice.

This exhibition, “Accept Without Bother,” was inspired by Egon Schiele’s “Death and the Maiden,” which is said to depict the death of true love.
