Mr. Takagi depicts scenes that make us aware of “the other side,”of deep psychology and other worlds that we do not usually stare at. In recent years, he has been attracting attention for his artistic activities, such as collaborating with famous apparel brands and popular manga.
In addition to the “snap-shot” series - drawings of creatures that were accidentally taken with a camera in the dark using a flash - which Mr. Takagi has been drawing since he was a student at art university, he started also drawing (e.g. pictures of the moon). This exhibition presents the “moon-shot” series, which depicts motifs that are exposed to the light from the sky and the“Nice corm”series, which looks at plant parts shown as creatures.
The exhibition period will be divided into a first half and a second half. By first exhibiting the early works and then the latest works produced so far, you can see the artist’s high awareness of painting and his solid technical capabilities.
