*The Musashino Art University Museum will be closed to the public from April 25, due to the COVID-19 state of emergency. In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we will reduce our opening hours and restrict access to the MAU students and staffs.

Toshihiro Katayama (1928 – 2013), having played a leading role in the creation of postwar Japanese design, later sought bases overseas, moving to Switzerland and then the United States. This exhibition is the first opportunity to present a comprehensive view of Katayama, his work in design, painting, sculpture, three-dimensional works in huge architectural spaces, all unconstrained by the defining frameworks of specific domains.
