My Armchair
ANA InterContinental Tokyo
Ends in 71 days
Matisse decided to become an artist when he was 20 years old, recuperating from an illness. For Matisse, art was a therapy. It was never meant to be a radical pollical message or an arcane intellectual puzzle because, for Matisse, art was a cozy armchair where he can safely rest his heart and mind.
For this show, people heavily involved in the art world have been asked to recommend 5 artists and 1 art unit, those who are young emerging artists or those who deserve more attention.
