This event has ended.

William Morris (1834-1896), an artist, poet, writer, thinker, and social activist, is known as one of the greatest figures of 19th century England. He is also called the father of modern design, and led the Arts and Crafts movement, which advocated modern design with the aim of unifying art and life.

This exhibition unravels Morris’s life as a designer, from his childhood and student days to his later years. Morris’s creative activities were deeply connected to the environment in which he lived, studied, and worked. This exhibition traces the trajectory of Morris’s designs by combining 80 design and craft works by Morris himself and his friends with landscapes associated with Morris photographed by photographer Mineko Orisaku.
