“Fragments of a Landscape”brings together the works of two great American artists: Joan Mitchell, painter and representative of post-war abstract expressionism, and Carl Andre, sculptor and active member of the minimalist movement of the early 1970s. Part of the “Hors-les-Murs” program of the Louis Vuitton Foundation, which presents previously unexhibited works from the collection at the Espaces Louis Vuitton de Tokyo, Munich, Venice, Beijing, Seoul and now Osaka, this exhibition respects the Foundation’s desire to set up international projects and make them accessible to a wider public.

Designed by architect Jun Aoki, Louis Vuitton Maison Osaka Midosuji features a façade inspired by the Hishigakikaisen, which recalls the history of Osaka as a city of the sea.

In addition to selling a full lineup of products on the first through fourth floors, the store also features Louis Vuitton's first café, Le Cafe V, and Sugalabo V, a by-invite-only restaurant. 

Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo is an art space that provides people with opportunities to experience the artworks in the collection through international projects such as"Hors-les-murs" (Beyond the Wall), a program showcasing important 20th-century works from the collection of the Fondation Louis Vuitton
