This event has ended.

Baku Maeda breathes new life into everyday objects and tools, such as stamps and ribbons, by reimagining their purposes with a deep observation and understanding of their materials. The natural environment of the artist’s native Hokkaido is another important element of Maeda’s work, with the forms of plants and animals and the changes of the seasons clearly forming the basis of it. This exhibition introduces the series “Pucker & Bloat,” which adds animating curves to pixelized images, “Charagraphy,” bringing out the special characteristics of calligraphy pens, and “Stanp By Me,” featuring stamps.
