This is the sixth exhibition in which the artists sell their works starting at 10,000 yen, and the price of the next work goes up with each purchase. It has been almost a year since we started this new experiment of adding continuity to the exhibition. Each time, the participating artists have been vigorously exploring the nature of art, and this time there were many particularly ambitious works, with a record number of exhibits.

The two new participating artists are Rintaro Takahashi and Kageyo Nakaji.

Takahashi’s works confront energy that cannot be visualized, such as stepping on a tap in front of a tollbooth where cars come and go or using myoelectric sensors to create a device that can play with people who have lost their arms.

Nakamichi, who is also a hardware engineer, has produced video works of work using a conveyor belt that can be described as neither play nor labor. The work depicts the strangeness of the collaboration between machines and humans while showing a longing for the body in labor and industry.
