Yufuji Saito was born in Yamagata City in 1949. After graduating from Musashino Art University, Department of Industrial Design, he moved to Europe. In Vienna, Austria, he studied the oil and tempera mixed techniques of classical painting and exhibited his works in Germany, Austria, Poland, and other European countries. After a 15-year stay, he returned to Japan in 1988 and held a solo exhibition at Humanite the following year in 1989. Since then, based in Yamagata City, he has continued to exhibit her work in Japan and abroad.

The title of this exhibition, ‘C-Canis’ refers to the group of animals including dogs. Saito sees humans and dogs as overlapping. This is Yufuji Sait’s first exhibition in four years.
