Dear Takamizawa House
Ends in 18 days
This year’s Japan Pavilion for the Venice Biennale of Architecture, curated by Kozo Kadowaki, uses data analysis and contemporary Japanese architecture and construction techniques to pursue new possibilities in architecture based on the deconstructed of a wooden “minka” folk home. This exhibition looks at the Takamizawa House in two phases through this perspective. In Phase I, photographer and architect Jan Vranovský captures the process of the house being deconstructed. Phase II showcases how the Japan team has been able to organize the exhibition remotely, as the coronavirus crisis has restricted its travel.
