Communication Gallery Fugensha presents two series of work by the Tokyo-based photographer Kazutomo Tashiro. The first, “Hamayuri no koro ni,” comprises portraits from the disaster zone and the surrounding area taken between spring 2011, after the Great East Japan Earthquake, and spring 2013. Tashiro photographed nearly 1200 people for this series. A second series of portraits focuses on people living in Tokyo and explores the relationship between seeing and being seen.
