This event has ended.

This exhibition by Ayako Ishiba is a special program for 3331 Art Fair Recommended Artists. By photographing mundane everyday objects with the addition of modest manual labor, Ayako Ishiba creates works that create a trompe l’oeil impression on the viewer’s eye. Through the medium of “photography,” which has been translated as “photographing the truth,” Ishiba dares to add a little bit of manipulation to the real world, and his works depict landscapes whose authenticity cannot be determined, bringing to light the relationship between what exists and what does not.

In this exhibition, Ishiba goes one step further from the method of drawing outlines on his subjects and focuses on the phenomenon of perceiving “white” as “nothing” in printing technology. In an age where digital technology has developed to the point where we can obtain processed images at the push of a button, Ishiba’s works, which boldly challenge the world of two-dimensional (flat) and three-dimensional (three-dimensional / perspective) using analog methods, will be an experience that pleasantly shakes the viewer’s perception.
