In 2020, the coronavirus and other unforeseen events caused anxiety and confusion throughout the world. Furthermore, people’s awareness of a sense of place increased, whether it be in a society, a nation, or an ethnic group. While some family relations strengthened as a result of social distancing and time spent at home, domestic violence and other issues remind us that “home” is not a safe place for everyone. Through art, this exhibition contemplates the question, “Where is a place for us?” It also considers the meanings of family, community, and identity as they manifest in a host of other issues.
