Artists

Furansowa Fujii
Furansowa Fujii was born in 1962 in Kosai City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and has won many awards, including the 1998 Asahi Advertising Award and the 2000 VOCA Exhibition Encouragement Award. His works are reminiscent of the Rimpa school of painting, which was celebrated in the Edo period, and his unique satirical expression expresses the idea that life exists in living things and food in everyday life.

In this exhibition, Fujii expresses the spirits of words and mourning gods that breathe in everyday Japanese nature such as plants and trees.
