Looking at Compositions―Stacking Vertically / Expanding Horizontally / Moving Forward into Depth

Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Shunichi Kashiwagi, Kazuo Tamura et al.
This exhibition examines Western-style paintings in Japan from the perspective of “composition.” It is an attempt to experience paintings more physically by exploring not only the meanings and backgrounds of the depicted objects, but also the structure of the picture surface and the vectors of movement of the motifs.
