Kitaura creates images using copper and paper engravings. She gets her ideas from the Bible, which has become the foundation of her life, and from Russian literature that she has been fond of for many years. For her, creating is like praying. She finds the way characters live in stories (frank, patient, clean) to be ideal.
Tomita's drawings bring parks or playgrounds at dusk to life - no one is in sight, but somehow the feeling of the daytime atmosphere still exist. Warm and soft colors are used to express nostalgic and lyrical scenes. They are drawn in simple shapes and the compositions are well thought-out.
Nakamura's theme is emotional alienation and anxiety, however her works are filled with quiet dream-like scenes, and a sense of relief drifts through her drawings. A dark horizon or night sky background, people, flowers, and butterflies are drawn with bright and gentle colors. They appear to be representing a tiny beacon of hope in the darkness.
