36 recent paintings and sculptures by Lee Ufan. His last exhibition in Japan was twelve years ago. Lee Ufan artfully blends South Korea, Japan, and European cultures in his works while maintaining a careful distance at the same time. His materials of choice have begun to become simpler as time goes by, strengthening the importance of this aspect in his works.

1960年代末から70年代前半の現代美術の運動「もの派」の作家として知られる李禹煥の個展が横浜美術館で開催されている。李禹煥の大規模な個展は日本ではおよそ12年ぶり。新作を含めた36点の絵画と彫刻で構成され、90年代以降に制作された作品が中心である。
年末まで横浜美術館では『李禹煥－余白の芸術』展が開催されている。李禹煥は言うまでもなく、もの派の代表的な作家として知られているが、彼のここ15年程度の足跡を追うことができる。前半が、リテラルな余白の芸術とも言える、白とグレーを基調にした絵画作品、後半は鉄と石を題材としたオブジェが展開されている。
