Born in Japan in 1964, Harumi Yonekawa lives and works in Tokyo. Since the early 90's, she has explored various lens-based media such as photography, as well as sculpture and cultural productions for her installations.
She has also developed an in-depth understanding of the relationships between the existence of the body and the possibilities of the reality, and for more than 10 years, she has been creating a series of installations called "Coexistence of Inside". They combine visual images, sculptures and various materials. She creates her art musing on some fundamental issues such as "Body and Death" and "Existence and Unconsciousness".
