The first Kokuhu Bonsai Exhibition was held in 1934. Since then, it has kept true to its namesake: The development and preservation of Bonsai as a Japanese art form and culture. With the longest history of any bonsai exhibition held today, it is also one of the most prestigious, garnering attendances from throughout the world.
