The Prince Takamatsu Memorial Prize, the Praemium Imperiale, was set up by the Japanese Arts Association and according to Prince Takamatsu's wishes, has recognised those who contribute to the "improvement or spread of world arts and culture." This exhibition shows works of former prizewinners from the museum's collection.
