Each year, people celebrate the new year with a new calendar. A new calendar signifies the beginning of a new year, and people use it to make schedules and plan their dreams. Birthdays, holidays, dates, business trips, conferences, concerts, exhibitions, sports, weddings, work, promises... indeed, we are living our lives in tandem with our own calendars. People, society, and yes, the world moves around calendars. Unfortunately, calendars are 'living things' - thus with the new year, old calendars become redundant and are thrown away. However valuable they were to you in a particular year, they inevitably face the rubbish bin when the time comes; nobody keeps old calendars as ornaments. That is why calenders were not particularly focused on in the design world. This exhibition, however, turns the spotlight on "the work of calendars" over the past 20 years, along with Takahisa Kamiyo, who is widely experienced in the art of calendar design.
