Chinese Propaganda Posters from the Great Cultural Revolution "The Red Sea"
This event has ended.
At Gallery TOM
Media: Graphics
This year is the 40th anniversary of the Great Cultural Revolution that overtook China from the late 60s to late 70s. Many red posters and badges were made as propaganda for this movement, literally creating a red sea that covered every place in China from busy street corners to rural villages.
This exhibition takes a look at the meaning and role of posters as propaganda, and its designs.
