What does the experience of living in a foreign culture mean or what kind of stimuli does it provide to artists? Koji Mori and Kohei Nawa were recently dispatched to Berlin and Katja Strunz and Georg Winter were invited to Japan as part of the exchange program of Daimler Chrysler Foundation in Japan's cultural/artistic activity "Art Scope". Hara Museum of Contemporary Art will exhibit the fruits of this exchange.

「アートスコープ2005/2006」展 ＠原美術館 interviews
このビデオでは、原美術館の学芸員の安田篤生さんに、現在開催中の「アートスコープ2005/2006」展について、そして4人のアーティストについてお話を伺いました。
入ってすぐの部屋にあるビデオ作品が好きでした。
二階に上がって「Air Cell」が凄かったです。
そして二階の最後の部屋で上映されている「美術のための応援」。
「絶対行った方が良い」というまでの展覧会ではありませんが、「行って損はない」展覧会だと思います。
デザイン性あふれる展覧会のチラシが目を引き、アーティスト・イン・レジデンス自体にも興味があったので以前から訪れたい展覧会のひとつでした。先日行われたＡＩＴでのアーティストトークにも参加して予習もばっちり、だったはず。でもやっぱりポリティックなコンセプトが伺えるドイツ人アーティストの作品は少し難解でした。（国籍の違いとひとえに片付けてしまって良いのか。。。）いつまでも満たされないコップに延々と水を注ぎ続ける様子と、割れたかけらをつなぎ合わせたグラスから漏れ出るワインの様子を捉えたそれぞれのヴィデオ作品が、こころの隙間にチクリと来て、印象に残りました。
どの作品が日本で、どの作品がドイツで制作されたのかあいまいという点からも「インターフェース･コンプレックス」を感じました。
展示室内をかっ歩する森氏に遭遇。今なら他にもっと聞きたいことが浮かんでくるのに、「自分の作品が展示され、大勢のひとに鑑賞される気分って、どんなものなんですか？」そのときはそんな陳腐な質問がやっと浮かびました。
名和晃平のAir Cell - A_36mmp,Air Cell - B_36mmp
。
透明なアクリルの直方体の中に、数十のまたアクリルの層が入っている。
その層に36mmおき？（タイトルからそうなのかと思われるが）にシリコンぽいもので作られた円筒形のふちにラウンドをつけた、いわば半透明の小石のようなものが等間隔にXY方向で置かれている。
ただそれだけなのだが、見る者が移動することによって3次元的な動きを体感でき、3Dグラフィックスソフトを動かしているような気分にさせられる。
