Thirty artists tried their hand at designing 'furoshiki' to the theme of 'beauty of wrapping' and 'beauty of carrying'. The concept of this exhibition is to raise awareness of environmental issues by offering small ideas that can be incorporated into your daily life. Lately, the traditional Japanese item of furoshiki has been getting attention as the answer to environmental problems concerning the overuse of plastic bags. Some good points about furoshiki are: it's recyclable unlike plastic or paper bags, it's fashionable because you can choose from a variety of colors and patterns, it doesn't take a lot of space, and it can wrap any thing of any shape.
