In the summer of 1998, local artists from Zurich, Switzerland painted 400 glass fibre sculptures of cows (life size) and exhibited them all over the city. The cows attracted many sponsors and donations, and by the end of the exhibition the number of cows had doubled. Since then, the cow parade has gained worldwide interest.
In 2006, the parade will tour 8 cities in 6 countries including the US and UK. Here in Marunouchi, Tokyo, 64 cows painted by 60 artists, students from 2 junior high schools in Chiyoda Ward, plus 2 other participants will be displayed, sponsored by 10 companies. The cows are 7 feet long and 2 feet wide. A competition and auction will also be held. Judges include graphic designer Shin Matsunaga, playwright Amon Miyamoto etc.

奇しくもこの夏、家族が訪れたインドの野良牛とは全く違う

3年前に見たときからカウ達のトリコです♪
各国で行われたカウ達の写真集も丸ビル4Fの丸善の特設コーナーにありますが1冊4,200円って…。高いよぅ。。。

カウを全て見て回ろうとしている人もいたくらい、愛すべきイベントになっています。今後も続けて欲しいなあ。そして、僕もデザインしてみたい。
毎日通っているオフィスの入居しているビルの前にもどど～んと登場していました。心が和みました。楽しいイベントですね。
Cowを見つけるのに必死で周りに注意するのを忘れた。
