100 Years since Dalí's Birth - A Centennial Retrospective
This event has ended.
At Ueno Royal Museum
Media: Painting
Known as one of the most gifted artists of the 20th Century, Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) used his distinctive style of expression to create a diverse range of fantastical, unreal, even demented worlds in his work, and he occupied a special position within the Surrealists. He was widely known for his eccentric behaviour and for the creative relationship he had with his wife and muse, Gala.
This exhibition is centred around 60 of his key paintings, borrowed from the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation in Spain and the Salvador Dalí Museum in America, including works which are being shown in Japan for the first time. On show will also be highly valued drawings and photographs from his early period, making this exhibition a major retrospective of his life's work until his death at 84.

Reviews
Not worth going to on a weekend; the line outside wasn't very long but once we got in it was totally packed - couldn't get close enough to see the works, and if you did you were soon pushed out of the way.
