Masuo Ikeda, who had an international reputation as a printmaker, demonstrated his great talent in a wide range of fields such as painting, sculpture, ceramic, novel, essay, scenario and film direction. By the time of his death at the age of 63 in 1997, he had created more than 1,000 pieces of print work and more than 3,000 pieces of ceramic work. As a related event, violinist Yoko Sato, his beloved partner, will play a special concert in Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall at 14:00, Friday, February 8th, celebrating the 50th anniversary of her debut.
