1st TDC Workshop "Science and Art"
This event has ended.
Tokyo Design Center takes over the successful workshop series entitled "Loreal Award Workshop Series: 'Color' Art Meats Science" which lasted for 10 years and ended last year.
The main theme of this 1st discussion is "seeing something invisible." Led by Yasuo Kobayashi from Tokyo University and Kuniaki Nagayama of Okazaki Bioscience Center, the discussion compares ideas of "invisible things" from scientific and artistic viewpoints. While Nagayama introduces the microscopic world, referring to Hideki Yugawa's invisibility in physics and mathematics, Kobayashi starts the conversation from art historical point of view, discussing the beginning of science in the Baroque period.
This talk will be conducted in Japanese only.
