Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark - each of these Nordic countries has its own distinctive topography and culture, but have developed a similar approach to design and cultivated a rich life style. Geographically speaking, these Nordic countries are far from the center of the European economy, and industrialization and modernization started relatively late. Also, the region has a harsh climate and rugged landscape, and the population density has always been low. These conditions resulted in fostering the idea of creating comfortable residential accommodations. Nordic modern architecture and craft emphasizes not only function and natural materials, but also warm colors and light.

Nordic design first became known internationally in the 1950s through the touring exhibition, “Design in Scandinavia,” and has been gaining vast popularity again since in the 1990s. This exhibition will focus on the basic characteristics of Nordic design such as the traditions, functionality, and expression by showing excellent pieces by the master designers who established the golden age of Nordic design.

展示そのものは、インテリアショップを見ているのに極めて似ている。
ただ、座ってみたい椅子に座れないw

イッタラの製品もかなり展示されていて、
ただし現在は売っていない物が大半。
カイ・フランクの器がやはり良い。

it's better to go to a good furniture shop than pay for this show!
