May 2003, Murayama: The artists knew of the closing of a Nissan factory there, but were still shocked at the flat vastness of the old factory site. The test course that stretched 2km north to south was stripped of pavement but showed vestiges of the bank. In 2036 this space is to become a place for "consolation and prayer for all," but the artists were again shocked at the 30 year time alloted to achieve the goal.

In April 2004, the artists visited Central Asia for the first time. It took more than one week to visit three sites, all the while having discussions with the client and specialists from each field. There they encountered beautiful Silk Road landscapes.

In August 2005, in Ho Chi Minh City, the artists were invited to an international competition. The greenery of the suburban Mekong Delta had yet to become urbanized and could only be reached by boat. The riverbanks were lush with mangroves. It was hot, but the wind felt nice and the site is among the artists' favorites.

This exhibition will cover these three projects with the common theme "vast sites" that are progressing in areas with varying culture and climate.
