It has already been nearly 20 years since the Showa period (1926-1989) turned into the Heisei period. Japan underwent many changes following the Second World War. Th country arose from the ashes and people's lives changed. This four part exhibition of some 6000 works taken from the museum's collection shows how the photographers of that time documented the world around them.

Part 1: "Occupied Japan"
Part 2: "The Age of Heroes and Heroines"
