"Is Britain Great? - The Caravan Gallery" Exhibition
This event has ended.
This is a photography exhibition being held inside a 1969 British-made caravan that has been brought to the gallery. Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale started this mobile exhibition in 2000 and have until now already travelled over 1000 miles within Britain, displaying photography that reveals the ordinary and the unusual in 21st century Britain.
White walls have been set up inside the mustard-coloured caravan, and this almost 'real' gallery is ideally suited to hosting ironic exhibitions of illustration, photography and collage work.
Visitors to the Caravan Gallery are invited to fill out a questionnaire, which through its mixture of both serious and ridiculous questions has produced fascinating insights into the homelands and lifestyles of the various people who have taken part.
Some of the results until now:
99% of people would rather die than have a funeral while alive.
17% of people have won meat in a competition.
30% of people have seen their parents naked.
18% of people avoid their neighbours on their way out to go shopping.
