Kenji Imai is a highly acclaimed architect who designed Waseda University's former library, the stations on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line (between Ueno and Asakusa), the Toyama Memorial Museum of Art and many other outstanding pieces of architecture. He distanced himself from the Modernism movement and continued to develop his original style. He is one of the first figures to have introduced works of Ostberg, Gaudí, and Steiner. He is also an established educator at major universities such as Waseda University. He left behind a large amount of drawings, sketches, and models which reveal his refined approach to artistic creation.

This exhibition features Imai's early works to the "airport monument" made in 1940 with sketches, models, and other materials he left. Over 200 pieces are on display as a retrospective of his life's achievement.
