"The Brillance of Belle Époque" Exhibition
This event has ended.
At Daimaru Museum Tokyo
Media: Fashion
This exhibition commemorates the opening of the new Daimaru Museum Tokyo. The period from the late 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century in Europe was called the Belle Époque. An elegant joyful culture blossomed as the name implies. Particularly in Paris, gorgeous jewelry and glass crafts were developed at the same time that many artists were active. This exhibition features 100 pieces by jewelry brands that were established during this time including Cartier, Chaumet, Tiffany and art deco pieces by Rene Lalique. A limited edition special item designed by Coco Chanel will also be on display to celebrate the occasion.
[On display for the first time in Japan, by Chanel Design: Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel "Halo Tiara" (circa 1930) from the Albion Art Collection]
