Naobumi Seimiya (1917-1991) was born in Tokyo. He is the son of renowned modernist printmaker Hitoshi Seimiya. After graduating from Tokyo Bijutsu Gakkou, he started focusing on woodblock printmaking around 1953. He pursued creating the perfect print, which resulted in producing completely different sets of prints out of one block. Ambiguous images that appeared in his mind are poetically visualized in clear forms and controlled colors. This exhibition features around 90 works from the museum collection, and around 110 works including his early paintings, drawings and glass paintings.
