"The Photograph: What You See & What You Don't" Exhibition
This event has ended.
At The University Art Museum - Tokyo University of the Arts
Media: Photography, Film
Photography is being practiced in pretty much in every field of art, making it important to keep asking what the future of photography is. This exhibition aims to read into the unchanging core of artistic expression against the shifting social backgrounds of each time and place, so as to enable viewers to experience the fundamental elements of photography - sometimes visible, and sometimes hidden away.
From internationally active photographers such as Iwata Nakayama, who lived though the conflicted period during which photography established itself as an art form, and Kiyoji Otsuji, who realized numerous possibilities in photography, to young emerging photographers, this exhibition includes promising artists from different generations.

年代的にも満遍なく目配りをしながら、注目すべき若手作家をきちんと押さえており、写真の「現在」を知るという点でも非常に価値の高い展示だ。
