Lab☆Motion is a project introducing uniquely talented young creatives based in Tokyo. Rather than exhibit completed works as an exhibition, Tokyo Wonder Site Hongo will become a laboratory of sorts, with the artists using the space as their studio on a day-by-day rota basis.

Today, the technology and culture that we experience in Tokyo are not merely conjoined by an "&" in the way that art and science has been paired together in the past; as far as a lot of people are concerned the gap between the two has already been closed and they are now fused together. Our cities, architecture, music, clothing, farming, food, and the environment that surrounds us are all fused together.

Lab☆Motion is bringing together three creative units that express the reality of Tokyo with such natural ease that you could almost say they do it unconsciously: assistant, exonemo and tochka, who will be making use of all three floors of the TWS Hongo space.

Lab☆Motion's DIY Revolution

A floating sphere made of an amalgam of dead electronic gadgets brought back to life; stop-motion animations of long-exposure photos with light trails; a sensually intriguing interior with moving wall parts.

横浜のイベントに参加してたときはじっくり見る機会がなかったけど、ぼんやり描いていたイメージどおりの作品だったかも。トーチカのアニメーションがきれいで、やってみたいなあと思った。
