"Asahi Art Festival (AFF)" started in 2002 as a result of a collaboration between Asahi Beer, non-for-profit organizations and civic groups from all over Japan. Based on the idea of being a "participatory art event by citizens", the event aims to open up art to society and also to stimulate local culture through art.

This year, from July 7th to September 9th, AAF will be presenting exhibitions, concert events, and workshops of various genres: art, music, architecture, dance performance, theater, and others. AAF coordinates various types of activities, aiming to be a bridge between art and society.

AAF School 2007, a program running from March 15th to September 6th, functions as a temporary school. Events include lectures by experienced specialists and artists, regarding art management, art projects and others.
