In 1956, a Japanese economic newspaper columnist declared that Japan was finally emerging from the post-war era. The utter economic devastation of the country in the war had finally been overcome by rapid rebuilding. Recently, some popular Japanese films set in Tokyo in the mid-1950s have increased interest in the era. This exhibition includes advertising posters, newspapers, toys, and many other artifacts of the era, many of which were used in props for a soon-to-be released movie set in the 1950s.
