The Kamekura Award was established in 1999 to commemorate the life and work of Yusaku Kamekura who contributed to the development of graphic design.

This 7th Award recognizes Shin Matsunaga for "ISSIMBOW 'Katachi-koh'". The brand "ISSIMBOW" is the most recent work of Matsunaga, a veteran designer of such products as "Can Chuhai" and "Scotty", and takes 'wellness' as its theme to propose healthy lifestyles. Matsunaga created visuals of the concepts to be used for its services and products, and the high quality of the designs were brought to attention for this award.
