There are 8,920km of completed highways in Japan, and 15,000km when those under construction and currently in the planning stages are included. This artist traveled through Japan from 2005 to 2007 to photograph highway scenes. Highways allow travelers to reach their destination in the least amount of time, but the diverse places and views on the way flow by unseen. 48 black and white photographs will be on display in the artist's effort to contribute to the discussion on how cross-country road-building should be in the future.
