This exhibition introduces the art of the 16th and 17th centuries from Parma, located in Northern Italy. This period covers a wide range of art historical eras that flourished in Parma, from the Renaissance, the late 16th century when a unique culture was developed through the patronage of Farneze, and the Baroque style of the 17th century. This show aims to reveal the background and the surrounding history of Parma, a place where stylistic changes in art took place, later influencing the 19th century culture scenes. 100 paintings and drawings are on display.
