"The Witches' One Times One" Exhibition
This event has ended.
This exhibition consists of the work of female artists who have attracted much attention for their unique styles and modes of expression, but who have bridged the differences in their chosen fields to mount this show. In recent years, exhibitions that question the historical condition and current circumstances faced by female artists have become much talked-about in art circles worldwide, but this exhibition avoids narrow feminist approaches in favor of a focus on the purely creative possibilities conveyed by the diverse work of these female artists.
The "Witches' One TImes One" refers to the laws of magic expounded on in Goethe's "Faust", in which the essence and richness of the world is discussed, a world that transcends the limits of the modern fixation on rationalism and logic. These "witches" possess the ability to tap into a natural source, which in today's terms perhaps refers to those personalities strong enough to resist the tide of the masses and cultivate singular talents. This discussion will revolve around the works presented by these modern-day "witches".
