Kan Irie Exhibition
This event has ended.
At Galerie Nichido
Media: Painting
Kan Irie has exhibited many works at Nichido and Taiyo exhibitions, depicting scenes of lakesides in forests, narrow lanes in the woods, the first flush of spring greenery and radiant blue skies. His work manifests a strong internal composition with "backbone".
This exhibition by Irie features Mont Saint Victoire, a famous mountain in Aix-en-Provence, and the favorite subject of the father of modern painting, Cezanne - who believed that the natural world was made up of balls, round gimlet shapes and cylinders.
The rocky face of Mont Saint Victoire and its groves of olive trees, the spectacle of spring greenery reflected in the swampy grounds - these landscapes reflect both the awesomeness of nature and the sincere spirit of enquiry that Irie brings to his art.
